Instagram Stories are adding Spotify and GoPro integration

Instagram Stories are adding Spotify and GoPro integration

How often do you find yourself on Instagram, listening to music, and you suddenly get that huge urge to let your mates know just how your favourite song of the moment is making you feel right now? Well, there’s good news for you, with the announcement that Instagram have added Spotify integration to their Stories.

As The Verge notes, the feature has begun rolling out today, with other apps such as GoPro, also allowing you to share content directly into your Instagram Stories.

So how does it work exactly? Well, thankfully Instagram have provided us with a handy three-step guide (which you can see below), but the gist of it is that if you’re listening to your favourite tune using the Spotify app, pressing the ‘share’ button allows you to post what you’re listening to right now into your Instagram Stories, meaning that all your mates can now be jealous of the fact you’re listening to Limp Bizkit’s ‘Rollin” for the sixth time today.

Instagram have also said that this new integration will allow these apps to post content directly to your Facebook stories as well, but that’s not going to be ready for a little while still.

In addition to Instagram and GoPro’s new abilities, Instagram is also set to use Facebook’s new range of camera effects to give users an AR-type experience, allowing them to use face filters from celebrities, or adding things akin to that delightful dancing hot dog into your videos.

While there’s no word yet on when these features are set to be available, knowing how Facebook and Instagram work, it shouldn’t be too long. Multiple sources are noting that Spotify’s integration with Instagram are available now, though it looks like it’s slowly being phased in for Aussie users.
