About the position

This role will lead Arts Centre Melbourne to strategically prepare for its future workforce requirements by analysing emerging people, workforce and industry best practice trends in order to plan, develop and implement innovative people strategies, programs and plans.

The Senior Manager, HR Planning and Performance will also take a lead role in the enterprise bargaining process and provision of advice and support to the HR Team regarding the prevention and resolution of disputes and grievances, union consultation, performance management process and termination of employment.

This position is responsible for ensuring effective communication and consultation with the respective internal and external stakeholders in relation to ER and strategic HR project matters.

To be successful in this role you will require:

Essential

  • A relevant post-graduate tertiary qualification in HR management, Business, Industrial Relations and/or Law
  • Proven experience in developing, guiding and implementing workforce planning initiatives, talent management and organisational change.
  • Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive employee relations issues within a large public sector organisation.
  • Experience in providing strategic industrial relations.
  • Demonstrated high level communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to establish networks and productive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to research, analyse and evaluate complex issues, provide strategic advice and report in a concise manner.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills to develop and implement policies, strategies and strategic projects to deliver intended results within agreed timeframes.
  • Direct involvement in representing an organisation to negotiate an Enterprise Agreement, ideally in the public sector.
  • Experience in coaching senior managers and in managing a team
